Frabjous day, callooh, callay

It is indeed a frabjous day because waiting for me when I arrived home was a new Elly Griffiths book: Bleeding Heart Yard. This is the third story about the detective Harbinder Kaur and I am hugely looking forward to reading it. The hardback edition was out last year but I decided to wait for the paperback as it will fit nicely with the others on my bookshelf.

Bleeding Heart Yard is a real place in London, near Holborn and Farringdon. I may well go and find it.

The sad part is that in a couple of days I will have finished the story and will be waiting for Elly Griffiths to write more. I have a friend who is very disciplined with her reading, taking just neat, polite bites and spreading out the joy of reading over many days. I wish I could do the same but I can’t. I will gobble this story, possibly long into the night. I will live it…and then it will be gone.

Such is life.
